This one-of-a-kind expedition takes you to an Emperor Penguin rookery and a King Penguin rookery. The expedition sails from Ushuaia, Argentina to the Weddell Sea, where you spend 3-days at an Emperor rookery. After 5-days exploring South Georgia, the icebreaker crosses the Southern Ocean to the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas).
This singular event will be enriched by our special guests, Robert Bateman and Birgit Freybe Bateman. Robert is an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist and activist. In recognition of his lifetime of work, he was made Officer of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian award. Birgit is a professional artist and photographer, whose images have appeared in books and magazines such as Conde Nast Traveller, Outside Magazine, and National Geographic Adventure. The couple have shared a deep concern for the conservation and preservation of our natural and human heritage. they will deliver two presentations about their lifetimes’ work. |
