CAMEL RIDE
To join our special camel ride to vast desert in the Inner Mongolia will be truly a challenge. Camel, known as "boat in the desert," provides the availability to see spectacular scenery in the desert.
Tour Start Date in 2008: 2008 6/15, 7/13, 7/27
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive at Beijing, connect to internal flight to Baotou. Transfer to Kubuchi Desert, overnight at the Desert Reception Center - the gher camp.
Day 2 Yinken - Dakulan. Briefing in the morning and familiar to your camel. Test ride to whistle Sand, and the highest point (1296 meter) in the Kubuchi Desert. Picnic lunch at Dakulan and ride back to the same gher camp in the previous night.
Day 3 Bayin - Longtouwan - Liougouhe. Riding in the desert, lunch at Bayin. Approach Liougouhe (the tributary of Yellow River). Camping overnight in the desert.
Day 4 Lioutadian - Kuaziwan. Keep trekking along the Liougouhe to Lioutadian and lunch. Across the Liougouhe river toward north to arrive Kuaziwan. Overnight at camp.
Day 5 Kuaziwan - Baidalai - Zhaoxi. Away from the Liougouhe river toward northeast to Baidalai. After lunch, continue our challenge to Zhaoxi and overnight at camp.
Day 6 Zhaoxi - Tonggai - Gher Camp Reception center. Final day camel trek in the desert and toward south. The scenery is changing from sand dome to more grassland. The finish line will be set up at the Kubuchi Desert reception center. Celebratory dinner with traditional Mongolian dance. Overnight at the gher camp.
Day 7 Baotou - Beijing. Morning visit to the famous Wudangzhou Lamasery. Transfer to airport for flight to Beijing. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 8 Time for relax or explore Beijing. Optional tours to Forbidden City, Summer Palace.. etc. are available. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 9 Depart Beijing.
