Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Beijing, and transfer to our overnight hotel accommodation.  Settle in and adjust to the time change.
Day 2 We trek along a country route beside a beautiful reservoir. From there we head towards the highest waterfall in the Beijing province.  We climb the 120 steps to the pool above the waterfall, with the help of side railings.
Day 3 This is a challenging but rewarding day as we trek from tower to tower in a dramatic setting of lush hills with steep ravines offering spectacular views.  We lunch at one of the watchtowers en-route.  At the end of the day after descending from the fourth tower we transfer to hotel.
Day 4 We begin the day with a transfer then trek through a shallow valley that ends in a small Chinese settlement. After that we head into a national park, passing many small pools and local stalls.  Our day's trek concludes at a broken section of the Great Wall of China.
Day 5 We set off towards the Great Wall.  The highest point is 700 meters above sea level and the view is incredible. After a picnic lunch we leave the Wall and pass a small reservoir to reach our overnight accommodation, an authentic Chinese-styled Hotel.
Day 6 We trek straight from the door.  The Great Wall also dates back from the Ming Dynasty.  It boasts some 135 watchtowers.  This morning we trek on the Wall itself and climb more than 1000 steps.  Then we leave the Wall to trek down through villages to lunch at a watch tower.  We celebrate the end of this trek. We then transfer back to Beijing.
Day 7 Explore Beijing: The Forbidden City & Summer Palace.
Day 8 Depart Beijing.
