YANGTZE TREK

The mighty Yangtze River flows some 6300km from its source in Tibet to the East China Sea near to Shanghai.  It is the third longest river in the world (after the Nile and Amazon) and the longest river in China. The legendary three magnificent gorges is regarded as one of China's main attractions. Created over millions of years, they comprise of soaring peaks, sculpted cliffs, mysterious caves and cascading foliage.

Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Beijing.  Fly to Yichang.
Day 2 A warm-up day. Start trekking from the river side after a morning coach transfer.  We climb up to "Yanggia Village, a village on the hill.  Continue to the top of Maogong Shan. After lunch start descending to the Sandouping.  Take  bus tours to the Yangtze Dam and museum.
Day 3 Coach transfer to the riverside pier.  Today we will trek from an old village which remains in the Gorge to Miaohe.  Climb up a steep hill through tea fields and orange orchard.  Make  a tea stop at the village then continue up for a spectacular bird's eye view over the Xiling Gorge.  Ferry transfer to Shanouping.
Day 4 In the morning, board a speed boat from Sangdouping to Fengjie.  Lunch will be served on the boat. Begin trek from Fengjie in the afternoon, climbing a mountain road to Chijiahsan.  A ferry will take you to Wushan.
Day 5 Ferry will take you to Quchi to start a trek on a higher path along the river. This is our longest day.  We will visit some villages and have a unique view of the mouth of Wu Gorge. Climb up a steep hill on a trail road and meet our coach, which will take you to the hotel at Wushan.
Day 6 Trip to the Lesser Three Gorges. Take speed boat to Yichang.
Day 7 Yichang to Beijing.  Peking duck dinner.
Day 8 Explore Beijing: The Forbidden City & Summer Palace.
Day 9 Depart Beijing.
